Danny Dyer was serving pints again almost two years ago after leaving the role of Queen Vic landlord Mick Carter in EastEnders.

The actor, 46, pulled pints and spat his now iconic cockney rhyming slang as he joined 43-year-old Peter Crouch in a hysterical new Paddy Power commercial ahead of the 2024 European Championship in Germany.

Danny also stripped down to his swimming trunks in the advert which cited England’s unique position as favorites to win the tournament.

Dodgy behavior abroad, rubbish holiday fashion sense and a less-than-seamless Brexit were all playfully teased as characters from across Europe were quizzed about their love for the English.

Danny himself skipped the traditional food and ordered egg and chips as he sat by a Spanish swimming pool before asking the camera: “Go ahead, we’re not that bad are we?”

Before Peter, dressed in a huge English flag and matching hat, shouted: ‘It’s coming home!’.

But despite England’s apparent lead in the competition, the ad ended with Danny admitting: ‘I’m bricking it right now’.

Since dominating Italy 3-1 overnight in their European qualifier, England have established themselves as the 4/1 favorites to win Euro 2024 with Sky Bet in Germany.

Gareth Southgate’s side were previously 9/2 favorites with France, but now that the Three Lions have arguably their best side of the last twenty years, with the likes of Harry Kane, Jude Bellingham and Bukayo Saka, there is confidence in the betting . market that this is the team that can finally bring home its first European trophy.

It comes after Wayne Rooney said he believes Gareth Southgate needs to be smarter in managing players’ minutes if England are to triumph in the competition.

The former England player believes other countries ‘fear’ England but says even giving key players 15 minutes’ rest towards the end of matches will make a huge difference.

He discussed England’s chances and tactics with former Manchester United and England teammate Gary Neville The overlapis sponsored by Sky bet.

Wayne said: ‘Depends on the opposition, depends on which team England have to go for’

‘I want to see Phil Foden playing in central midfield, but there’s also Jude Bellingham, and that’s the headache Gareth Southgate is going to have.

“I suppose he could go with them as two N010s and then the three in midfield, but then you rely on your full-backs to provide the width.

‘It’s been a strength of the last two tournaments, even if you give players 15 minutes of rest it can make a big difference. We have the strength and quality in the team.

‘In the last tournament [Euro 2020]Harry Kane was after the Golden Boot, so if it hadn’t been there it might have been easier to take it off and keep him fresher.

‘I would like to see the players’ minutes managed better.’

Wayne has scored 53 goals in 120 appearances for England and is excited by the wealth of talent in the current Three Lions squad.

‘For me, Phil Foden and Bukayo Saka have to play, they are good players, aren’t they?

‘Look at Foden and Jude, and Jude gets so many headlines that it’s almost like Foden is going under the radar a bit.

‘I think Foden has scored more goals and got more assists than Bellingham has got this season and that’s why Foden has to play.’

On England’s chances at the European Championship, he added: ‘England can win the 2024 European Championship. I think what we have now is that other countries are starting to fear England a little bit.

‘In previous tournaments other teams could see that England were good, but there was never that fear. But now that England is here, there is fear.’
