Dakota Fanning looked chic in a dress during an outing in New York City.

The 30-year-old was spotted in SoHo on Monday wearing a long, figure-hugging white dress adorned with pink flowers.

The sleeveless gown stopped just above her ankles and had two small belts that accentuated her waist.

Dakota paired the whimsical look with silver strappy heels, dainty rings and matching earrings. Her blonde hair flowed freely as she smiled and waved to the crowd.

Just a day earlier, the actress walked the red carpet at the New York City premiere of her new thriller, The Watcher, and took a moment to offer some advice for the next generation of child stars.

“As long as you love it, you’re in the right place,” Dakota said People on Sunday.

‘Sometimes you work in a cold, wet forest and if you can still enjoy yourself there, then you are on the right track.’

Her latest film has been on screen since she was five and sees a grown-up Dakota putting her survival skills to use in the psychological thriller.

Based on the 2021 novel by AM Shine, The Watcher follows Mina (Dakota), an artist on a road trip in Ireland who becomes stranded in a creepy forest after her car breaks down.

Mina takes shelter in a house with three other strangers, all of whom are watched by ominous creatures as the sun sets.

Meanwhile, the film features the directorial debut of Ishana Night Shyamalan, the daughter of Oscar-nominated director M. Night Shyamalan, who serves as a producer on the film.

While reflecting on working with the new director, Dakota said her experience was nothing short of amazing.

“She’s such a cool person, and one person I’m happy with is now a friend,” the Ripley star gushed to the outlet. ‘She is full of so much energy, life and creativity. She had such a vision of what she wanted to do and was also open to working with anyone.”

And Ishana reciprocated her love for the leading lady of her film.

“I was impressed with working with her,” the 22-year-old said. “She’s one of those actresses who only comes from the truth and always makes decisions that are real to her, and that gives such depth and texture to the film.”

Ishana, who also wrote the screenplay, noted that she grew up watching Dakota, calling her a “kind of ubiquitous being in our generation.”

But the writer wasn’t the only Dakota fan on set. Many of the Taken alum’s costars echoed their director’s sentiments.

“It was really nice to see her work,” Georgina Campbell said. ‘She is very intelligent. It was great to work with her.’

Meanwhile, Oliver Finnegan said Dakota is “incredibly focused,” noting, “She’s been doing it for so long, so she’s a professional. Just to try to figure out how she does it, it was cool to be around,” as Olwen Fouéré added, “She’s very focused – no fuss.”

For their night in the Big Apple, Dakota rocked a forest green with a plunging neckline and a hanging train. She kept the accessories to a minimum by simply putting a bracelet on her wrist.

Meanwhile, Ishana donned a silver metallic dress that clung to her petite frame and wrapped around her neck.

The filmmaker wore her dark hair slicked back and added silver earrings and red heels to complete her look.

Dakota previously made her way across the pond to the film’s premiere in London.

The fashion was also impeccable on that carpet, with the NYU graduate opting for a blue and white floral floor-length dress and black satin stilettos.

In April, Dakota took some time to reflect on her lengthy career and her process for choosing roles.

“If you don’t know what you’re saying, you can feel like a clown in a costume,” she said in an interview with Behind the scenes. ‘That’s the only way I can describe it. As an actor you are sometimes a clown in a strange costume who does strange things, that’s part of it.’

“But if you can stick with it and do it, it won’t feel weird or goofy or embarrassing,” Dakota continued. “Most of the time I just try to be oblivious to the ridiculous aspects of what I’m doing, and that usually comes from [having a] deep understanding of why you do it.’
