Caitlin Clark says the Indiana Fever still have a lot to learn in the aftermath of their loss to the Chicago Sky.
Indiana was up 15 points at one point in the third quarter but collapsed late, falling 88-87 to their Windy City rivals.
Reflecting on the losing days later, Clark told reporters that the team will position itself to avoid similar defeats in the future.
“It stinks,” Clark told reporters. “It was a game we felt we could have won and put ourselves in a position to win after three quarters.
‘I think we were up by 12 minutes with seven minutes to play in the game, if I’m not mistaken. I guess you can’t dwell on it too much, but it can’t happen again.

“I think it’s one of those where you go back and watch the film and you find yourself in those situations. There’s another situation where we’re up 15 points in the fourth quarter.
You still have to be able to attack and be aggressive, but also defend very well. You can’t pollute that much. That stops the clock. That’s three points if the clock doesn’t even move. That’s the worst thing you can do.
‘Like I said, we are in an inexperienced group. You have to learn from it. That’s the only thing you can do.’
The third meeting between Clark and her college rival Angel Reese went in favor of the Bayou Barbie as former LSU star Reese posted her eighth consecutive double-double.
While both rookies had spectacular games in Chicago, the night belonged to Reese, who became the first WNBA rookie to have a double-double of 25-plus points and 15-plus rebounds since A’Ja Wilson.
On the other hand, Clark also posted a double-double with 17 points and a franchise-high 13 assists with six rebounds.
