Jessica Madsen revealed she was dating a woman on Saturday when the Bridgerton star shared an inspiring post for Pride Month.
The actress, 32, is known for her role as the mean girl of the ton, Cressida Cowper, in the Netflix period drama.
On June 1, she announced on her Instagram that she was “in love with a woman,” as she shared a slew of artwork celebrating the LGBTQ+ community.
Jessica also posted a powerful historical photo from a march after the Stonewall riots and a short video of herself smiling at the camera.
She wore a tie-dye shirt and a black bucket hat that read “Supreme love,” while she wore rainbow-colored rhinestones under her eyes.

She took to her Instagram on June 1 to declare that she was “in love with a woman,” while sharing a slew of artwork celebrating the LGBTQ+ community
In the caption she simply wrote: ‘In love with a woman, loud about it and proud of it! #pride #pridemonth #loveislove #gaypride’.
Jessica received an outpouring of support and praise, including from many of her Bridgerton co-stars.
Penelope Featherington’s Nicola Coughlan and Anthony Bridgerton star Jonathan Bailey both responded with a series of heart emojis.
While the author of the original Bridgerton books, Julia Quinn, also shared a series of rainbow hearts.
Hannah Dodd, who plays Francesca Bridgerton, wrote: ‘Love youuuuuu’ and Joanna Bobbin, who plays Jessica’s mother on the show, Lady Cowper, said: ‘Go baby girl! I love you ‘.
Jessica has previously been outspoken about her sexuality in the past, marking last year’s Pride Month with a powerful post about bisexuality.
She shared a number of photos with messages such as ‘Bisexuals are not ‘confused’ and ‘bi af’ and captioned the post: ‘Bi the way…. Happy Pride month .’
But Jessica’s post not only inspired many of her followers, but also drove Bridgerton fans wild, as they speculated that this was a sign that her character would also be queer on the show.

Fans have long speculated that a possible queer romance could be explored on the show between Cressida and Eloise Bridgerton, played by Claudia Jessie.
The theory gained traction when Bridgerton’s showrunner confirmed that queer relationships will be explored in future seasons of the series.
The recently released series three of the show saw Eloise develop a close bond with Cressida, with many viewers hoping it would develop into something more – coming up with the ship’s name ‘Creloise’ for the couple.
Following Jessica’s post, several people rushed to the comments and to Twitter to express their belief that this was a sign that Cressida and Eloise would have a love story.

Showrunner Jess Brownell was recently asked by Refinery29 Australia if there would be any major storylines including LGBTQ+ characters.
She confirmed, “Yes, absolutely. I think this is a show about the many ways people love.
“So it only feels right to show all the ways people love, including queer love. That’s why we’ll be exploring queer love stories in the coming seasons.”
While she didn’t specify which characters, she added, “I don’t want to say exactly how that will work out. But it was important to me to foreground queer love and tell queer stories and also stories of queer joy.”
