“KC would be great names for him to bring, and he wants to bring a mix of hip-hop and electronic music. And I think we did a good balancing act electronically through Lil Wayne, 2 Chainz and Diplo.

“He has his finger on the pulse of the city and can call in favors against legends that might not otherwise have come about. I don’t think Lil Wayne has been in Kansas City for a while. (He) may not have come, but if Travis Kelce calls, you answer.

“That’s proven here with Lil Wayne being such an iconic legend coming to perform for ‘Kelce Jam’ because of the relationship between him and Travis.”

Silberzweig added, “What was important to Travis is that this festival feels like it’s for everyone and that younger, old, moving families want to come.

‘Whatever your taste, this festival is for the masses. This is for the people of KC. They start at $49, and the musical lineup speaks to that, right? It’s a little bit of everything.

‘We have a number of local DJs who open and build up the whole evening with our headliners.’

In addition to Lil Wayne and Diplo, 2 Chainz, Irie and EV are also on the program. Tickets, which start at $50, are still available at the time of writing.

It has been reported that Kelce will take the festival across the United States next year with a series of dates in cities from Los Angeles to Miami. Last year Kelce had Machine Gun Kelly headlining the event.

According to The Sun, he apparently has a budget of $15 million to perform shows in the future.

Kelce is currently in Paris, where he attended girlfriend Taylor Swift’s final show during her Eras Tour.

Swift definitely won’t be at Kelce Jam this weekend — the date clashes with her show in Stockholm, Sweden.
