A mother-in-law confessed to fatally stabbing her son-in-law after a heated argument between him and her daughter over a video call with another woman. The incident occurred in a village in Maha Sawat, Bang Kruai District, Nonthaburi Province.

The victim, 38 year old Warakorn, was found dead in his home with stab wounds. Following the incident, the mother in law, 55 year old Anan, waited for the police to arrive and subsequently surrendered herself.

Police officers at Bang Kruai Police Station conducted an additional interrogation of Anan at 10.30am today. Despite having been questioned the previous night, Anan remained visibly shaken and provided inconsistent statements.

She claimed she witnessed her daughter Kanyakorn and son in law arguing on the sofa in their home. Fearing that Warakorn might use a nearby knife to harm her daughter, she grabbed the knife, leading to a chaotic struggle and ultimately stabbing him multiple times.

Anan also mentioned that Warakorn had previously assaulted her two days prior, prompting her to file a police report at Bang Kruai Police Station. However, this account conflicted with Kanyakorn’s statement. The daughter stated that the argument was about her husband video-calling another woman, and she did not notice where her mother came from or how she got the knife.

Police Colonel Kittisak Pongthanarak of Bang Kruai Police Station stated that no charges have been filed against Anan yet, as the investigation is ongoing to ascertain the truth of the incident. He speculated that the altercation likely stemmed from domestic disputes, given the context of the argument.

“The wife of the deceased had called him multiple times without response, which exacerbated her anger and led to the confrontation.”

The police brought Anan back to the crime scene this morning to look for additional evidence.

Investigators scheduled an interview with Kanyakorn to gather more details about the incident this afternoon, reported KhaoSod.

The authorities aim to complete their investigation before pressing any formal charges against Anan.
