Scott Cam’s $50K nightmare: The Block star loses big in bizarre tequila bet with notorious bidder Adrian ‘Mr Lambo’ Portelli

Scott Cam recently found himself at the center of a high-stakes bet during a wild night out with the show’s infamous bidder, Adrian Portelli.

The evening took an unexpected turn when Scotty was challenged by Portelli to take a tequila shot – something he usually avoids.

Portelli, 35, known for his extravagant spending, offered Scotty $10,000 to finish the drink.

Cam rose to the occasion, accepted the challenge and took home the substantial reward.

After Cam shot the shot, Portelli immediately transferred the money directly to the TV star’s account.

However, Cam soon realized that he had actually lost when Portelli revealed that he was willing to pay Cam $50,000 if he didn’t touch the tequila.

Meanwhile, Nine has confirmed that Cam has donated the money he won to charity.

The Safe Steps Family Violence Response Center will receive $5,000 of Cam’s winnings, while another $5,000 will go to the Miracle Babies Foundation.

Also at the same dinner were Portelli’s Block bidder, rival Danny Wallis, and The Block executive producer Julian Cress.

According to the report, the dinner took place at posh French restaurant Anerie on Phillip Island, during a break from filming the final season of The Block earlier this month.

The publication also reports that participants have just a few weeks to complete their renovation work on the Phillip Island construction site.

Portelli was recently named as one of Australia’s richest people.

He has risen to number 115 on The List – Australia’s richest 250 – and is estimated to have made a fortune of $1.3 billion from his promotional company LMCT+.

However, Cam soon realized that he had actually lost when Portelli revealed that he was willing to pay Cam $50,000 if he didn't touch the tequila.

The lottery company offers its members lavish prizes, including luxury homes, cars and cash in monthly prize draws, through a legal loophole.

Subscribers also receive exclusive offers from more than 1,000 partners, such as Beaurepaires, Patriot Campers and Prestige Autoworks.

It has about 100,000 customers who pay a monthly subscription.

LMCT+ operates as a ‘trade promotion’ – a type of lottery originally designed to help businesses attract customers by rewarding them with prizes – under a license issued in NSW.

Portelli has appeared several times on the Channel Nine show The Block, where he buys houses to give away to his LMCT+ members.

Portelli’s $1.3 billion fortune has also been made from his assets, with the businessman having a particular penchant for fast cars and expensive properties.

He made headlines last May after using a crane to lift his $2 million Maclaren hypercar to his $39 million penthouse on Melbourne’s Southbank.

The Rich Lister previously admitted he has lost count of the number of rare, limited edition sports cars he owns, but thinks it is around 50.
