Actor Matt Prokop has been arrested in Texas after allegedly attacking his girlfriend.
Nearly a decade after his ex Sarah Hyland got a restraining order against him, TMZ reported that Prokop, 33, was charged with aggravated assault and resisting arrest.
According to Victoria Police, the pair were out on Saturday when Prokop’s girlfriend allegedly told someone he had attacked her.
Although officers were called to the location, the two were gone when they arrived.
Officers responded to a disturbance in another area about an hour later, where they found Prokop and his girlfriend.

The arrest comes almost a decade after his ex Sarah Hyland obtained a restraining order against Prokop
The woman suffered sufficient injuries to warrant an arrest, as the investigation revealed that Prokop allegedly pushed her and hit her head on something.
Prokop reportedly tried to pull away from the officers and run away as they arrested him.
The Disney Channel alum dated Hyland, 33, from 2008 to 2014, after meeting at an audition for High School Musical 3: Senior Year, in which he played Jimmie.
He later appeared in a 2012 episode of Modern Family with Hyland, as well as in the films Geek Charming (2011), Struck by Lightning (2012) and April Apocalypse (2013).
Prokop was also credited as a producer on her 2015 film See You in Valhalla.
Hyland alleged that Prokop was verbally and physically abusive for four years of their relationship, until her on-screen Modern Family mother, Julie Bowen, intervened and helped her end things.
In the restraining order, Hyland recounted an incident in which Prokop allegedly pushed her against a car and strangled her.
“His grip was so tight that I could not breathe or speak,” Hyland said in court documents. ‘I was scared and feared for my life.’
After Prokop entered rehab in August 2014, someone at the facility called Hyland to warn her about his mental state when he was released, and advised her to get a restraining order.

Hyland alleged that Prokop was verbally and physically abusive for four years of their relationship, until her Modern Family on-screen mother, Julie Bowen, intervened and helped her end things.

Hyland was granted a temporary restraining order in September, which became permanent a month later and required him to stay at least 300 feet away from her and her dog.
The Wedding Year actress shared some wisdom when she broke her silence on the restraining order shortly after.
“People have to go through things to become the person they are today, and that’s that,” Hyland said on the Meredith Vieira Show.
In August 2022, Hyland married Bachelor Nation alumnus Wells Adams.
