Details about Rory McIlroy and Erica Stoll's prenup have emerged as the couple prepares for divorce

Details about Rory McIlroy and Erica Stoll’s prenup have emerged as the couple prepare to go their separate ways after seven years of marriage.

McIlroy stunned fans by filing for divorce on the eve of last week’s PGA Championship, with reports claiming his marriage to Stoll had reached a ‘breaking point’.

The couple are said to have led separate lives for the past two years because the golfer was away from home so often for tournaments, which has put a strain on their relationship.

As a result, the couple are now on the verge of divorce after the bombshell filing was filed last week, sparking debate over who will retain ownership of certain assets.

McIlroy and Stoll signed a prenup when they tied the knot in 2017, and reports suggest the deal gives the former the right to keep their lavish $22 million Florida mansion.

According to The New York PostUnder the prenuptial agreement, the 13,000-square-foot property in Jupiter is owned by McIlroy, although he is not expected to remain there.

It is believed the Northern Irishman will hand over the keys to Stoll as he looks for a new home, providing a stable home for their four-year-old daughter Poppy.

The divorce filing reportedly calls for shared custody and the creation of a parenting plan for Poppy.

McIlroy purchased the Jupiter, Florida home in the gated golf community Bear’s Club from golf legend Ernie Els in 2012 for a whopping $11 million. It is now believed to be worth double that.

The house sits on 2.4 hectares of highly sought after land and is believed to have 10 bathrooms in addition to the nine bedrooms spread across the property.

The house was built in 2002 and was previously owned by former PGA star Els. The South African golfer is a former world number 1, like McIlroy, and is a four-time major champion, also the same as the Northern Irishman who bought the incredible house from him.

The South Florida residence also features a luxurious infinity pool, as well as a game room, tennis court, home theater, recording studio, and state-of-the-art gym. The 13,000-square-foot home also has a six-car garage.

McIlroy has earned an estimated $87 million in winnings on the PGA Tour over the course of his career, but Stoll may not be entitled to half his fortune despite tying the knot.

In Florida, where the couple is located, it is not considered a community property state, meaning a judge will decide how to divide marital debts based on the state’s equitable distribution laws.

McIlroy’s attorney in the divorce case is named Thomas Sasser, the same attorney who represented Tiger Woods when his ex-wife Elin Nordegren divorced him in 2010.

Nordegren ultimately walked away from her marriage to Woods with $100 million, which was just one-sixth of his golf fortune.

McIlroy’s divorce from Stoll comes amid rumors of a possible romance with CBS sportswriter Amanda Balionis.

DailyMail.com revealed earlier this week that McIlroy’s relationship with CBS’s 19th Hole reporter is the talk of the town and has many fans wondering just how close the pair have become.

Balionis was assigned to interview the 35-year-old after he won the Wells Fargo Championship in North Carolina on Mother’s Day earlier this month, and their chemistry on camera only increased speculation.

She indicated that he wore his ‘Mother’s Day’ pinkAlthough she asked him to pay tribute to his mother, Rosie, she did not extend the same invitation about Stoll.

Balionis’ wedding ring was noticeably absent from photos from her recent interview with McIlroy at the Wells Fargo Championship on May 11. She is married to college football coach Bryn Renner

The flirty banter was evident at the Wells Fargo Championship on Mother's Day, May 12, as Balionis giggled, flirted and talked her way through her interview with the golfer.

Fans have also questioned the status of Balionis’ two-year marriage to Bryn Renner, the former college football coach’s account executive.

The sports journalist and former University of North Carolina quarterback got engaged in 2021 and married in 2022.

During recent performances, Balionis did not wear her wedding ring, and the ring was nowhere to be seen on social media in February.

And while neither party filed for divorce, the reporter did changed her X username from her married nickname Balionis Renner back to her maiden name Balionis.
