Police are conducting a shooting investigation that involves a traffic crash near Michigan Avenue and Dr. Martin Luther King Boulevard.

The shooting happened Thursday, around 5 p.m.

According to the Fort Myers Police Department, one person was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Both vehicles were towed away at around 6:30 p.m., reopening the closed lanes and resuming normal traffic.

NBC2 was at the scene where a pickup truck and sedan were involved in the crash. The sedan’s windows were shattered and four bullet holes were on the passenger side of the vehicle.
