Sian Welby has revealed she was ‘forced to pee in the middle of the A3’ after being stuck in horrendous traffic last weekend.

The TV and radio star, who is 37 weeks pregnant, went to the toilet at the side of the road after being stuck in four hours of traffic on the motorway with little to no exercise.

Speaking on Tuesday’s edition of This Morning, Sian said she ran to the bushes to take cover but there were ‘brambles everywhere’ and she had to pee in the middle of the road instead.

She said: ‘I had to pee in the middle of the road, in the bush, and I didn’t dare go in there because it was full of brambles and nettles.’

The person she was traveling with captured the hilarious moment on camera, as Sian headed out to find some privacy so she could pee.

Presenters Dermot O’Leary, Josie Gibson and Giles Brandreth burst into laughter at the scenes, with Giles saying: ‘Are you coming back from your pee? Now I’ve seen it all. Morning TV isn’t what it used to be, is it?’

Dermot added: ‘The mystique is definitely gone, but who doesn’t like a splash of rustique every now and then?’

This prompted Sian to admit: ‘You know what? It was exciting.’

Sian kept her followers updated on the horrendous social media traffic, which took almost five hours to clear.

As traffic started to flow, the pregnant star filmed the ‘reported roadworks’ that hadn’t even happened yet – with a row of traffic cones causing chaos that brought the highway to a standstill.

It comes after Sian admitted she is finding it ‘so much harder to give up alcohol than I ever expected’ during her pregnancy.

Last month, Sian headed to Tenerife for a holiday with fiancé Jake and while sharing an insight into their trip on Instagram, she uploaded a photo of Jake enjoying a glass of white wine.

She captioned the post: “Not drinking on this holiday is so much harder than I ever expected.”

The NHS recommends that you do not drink alcohol if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant.

Drinking during pregnancy can cause long-term harm to the baby. The more you drink, the greater the risk.

The Captial Breakfast presenter announced in February that she is expecting her first child with her fiancé Jake Beckett and is due to give birth in June.

Sian said at the time: ‘I think I actually want to share something with the group now.

“Seriously, guys: I have a little announcement for you. I am pregnant! I don’t know how I managed to hide it from you for so long, but I did, it’s no joke.”

Sian got engaged to Heart Radio producer Jake during a romantic holiday to Greece in 2023.
