Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs grabbed, shoved, dragged and kicked his ‘then-girlfriend’ Cassie Ventura in a 2016 incident that a news outlet described as a ‘physical assault’ and matched allegations in the now-settled federal lawsuit filed by Ventura in November.

The videos, which are dated March 5, 2016, from various camera angles seem to feature the rapper, producer, and business mogul in an event that according to Ventura’s complaint took place at the now-closed Inter Continental Hotel in Century City, Los Angeles.
The location was confirmed through the comparison between photos of hotel’s rooms posted by its previous visitors in the internet.
At the beginning of the video Ventura leaves the hotel room and goes to the row of elevators. Ventura sees Combs with toilet paper wrapped around his private area running after him in the hall. He takes her by the back of the neck and hurls her to the floor.
At this point of the video, still with his towel closed with one hand, he then turns and kicks her, the video shows. Thus, while Ventura is on the floor, Combs picks a purse and a suitcase from the floor near the elevators.

He spins around and subsequently kicks Ventura once more when she is already down on the floor. It can be estimated approximately four seconds from one kick to the other from the video.
He then for a brief moment drags Ventura by her sweatshirt toward a room then walks away. Ventura is then seen getting up very slowly. She collects the things from the floor and proceeds to pick a phone attached on the wall of the hallway near the elevators.
Combs comes back – still in a towel and socks. A second camera is facing a mirror and it seems that Combs pushes Ventura. Several seconds later he sits on a chair, takes an object from the table, and throws it aggressively towards Ventura.
Combs is then seen turning away from Ventura only to come back again when an elevator door opens and someone seemed to alight from the elevator.

Ventura’s lawsuit And Ongoing Legal Issues
Ventura who sued Combs for unspecified damages reached an out of court settlement however would not comment on the video. The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office released a statement Friday concerning the 2016 surveillance video.
The Los Angeles Police Department is ‘aware of the video’ but does not have an active investigation involving Combs as of now, the department said in a statement to the news outlet.
Combs and Ventura, a model and singer-best known for songs such as “Me & U,” were on and off from 2007 until 2018. They were pictured together at the LA Premiere of the movie ‘A Perfect Match’ on March 7, 2016.
As the complaint filed by Ventura and reproduced by her in the text states, the fight between the ladies occurred “around March 2016” and during it Combs “got very drunk and punched Ms. Ventura in the face and she had a black eye.”.

Ventura who was once signed to Combs’ label in her suit alleged that he ‘manipulated her and used his power over her during their professional and sexual relationship’. She claimed in the complaint that she was 19 when they met and Combs was 37. Till date, this business relationship continued till 2019.
The complaint included accusations that Combs was physically abusive towards Ventura and made her have sex with different men at that time as well.
Besides, five other civil claims have been filed against Combs in the court since November for sexual misconduct and other illegal deeds. He has however refuted these allegations and the cases are still on course.
Investigators in March raided singer and actress Combs’ residences in California and Florida as part of a federal probe conducted by a group of Homeland Security Investigations agents tasked with human trafficking cases, a senior federal law enforcement official said.
The probe originates from several of the sexual assault claims filed in civil suits, mentioned a second criminal source, who is also familiar with the searches.
