A New York City mother who has voted Democrat for four decades claims she will vote for Donald Trump despite his criminal conviction.

Madeline Brame, who lost her son to a stabbing in 2018, attended Trump’s rally in the South Bronx last week to show her support for the presumptive Republican nominee for president.

She said she turned away from the Democratic party after her son was killed because she blames progressive Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Braggs for “going soft” on his killers.

Brame told WABC: “Alvin Bragg – the way he let two of my son’s killers walk away. He dropped gang assault and murder charges against two of my son’s killers.

“I’ve been fighting this fight for about six years now and we support Trump because we know he cares about the issues that are happening here in this community, even to the point where he showed up here today in the south Bronx… the dirty South Bronx, full of crime and poverty… and he is really here.”

While Brame made these comments before Trump was convicted, she took to social media to say that the jury’s decision did not change her mind about the Republican.

She added: ‘Regardless of the judgement, we have only one job to do: “VOTE their ashes*** OUT!” Up and down the line. Game’s over!’

Brame’s son Hason Correa, a 35-year-old father of three and Army veteran, was attacked in Harlem in 2018 by a group of people he did not know and stabbed to death during an altercation outside an apartment building.

She has accused Bragg of being “soft” on the perpetrators.

Two of Correa’s attackers have reached plea deals with Manhattan prosecutors and one has already been fired.

Four siblings – Christopher, James and Mary Saunders and Travis Stewart – were initially arrested for the murder.

‘Violent crimes against ordinary New Yorkers? Not so much.’

Republican lawmakers reacted with immediate anger Thursday when a jury in New York convicted former President Donald Trump on 34 charges of falsifying corporate records to influence the 2016 election.

House Speaker Mike Johnson said it was a “shameful day in American history” and that the charges were “purely political.”

Senator JD Vance of Ohio said the verdict was a “disgrace to the justice system.” And Louisiana Rep. Steve Scalise, the No. 2 Republican in the House of Representatives, said the decision was “a defeat for Americans who believe in the critical legal principle that justice is blind.”

Within minutes of the verdict being read, Republicans, who have historically been divided over support for their presumptive Republican presidential nominee, found common ground in their attack — with few details — on the judge, jury and President Joe Biden.

The conviction came on state charges in a Manhattan court; As the nation’s top federal official, Biden has no say in what happens in the New York City courtroom.

The jury found that Trump falsified the data in a scheme to influence his presidential election through hush money payments to a porn actor who said she had sex with Trump.

Few Republicans mentioned the details of the case, but many echoed his repeated claims that it was a “rigged, shameful trial.” It is expected that he will appeal soon.

There are no indications that the process has been manipulated. Trump’s defense has complained about a $15 donation Judge Juan Manuel Merchan made to Biden in 2020 and his daughter’s job as a Democratic political adviser, but the judge rejected Trump’s lawyers’ request for a recusal and said he was confident in his “ability to be honest.” and impartial.’

And the guilty verdict has only improved the former president’s standing among likely voters ahead of the 2024 election, according to an exclusive snap poll for DailyMail.com.

Of those who said the 34 guilty parties had changed their view of Donald Trump, 22 percent said they now viewed him more favorably, compared to 16 percent who said they viewed him more negatively.

That six-point net positive is a sign of how the businessman-turned-politician seems able to weather crises that would sink anyone else.
