The MP’s wife, who says she was the victim of the ‘Baby Reindeer Stalker’ last night, revealed she is considering legal action against Fiona Harvey following her controversial interview with Piers Morgan.

Laura Wray, 62, is threatening to sue after Ms Harvey claimed she was harassed by Ms Wray during the show – watched by 13 million people.

It comes after Ms Wray exclusively told The Mail on Sunday that she was harassed by Ms Harvey for five years, which resulted in a restraining order at Glasgow Sheriff Court in 2002.

Last night Ms Wray, the widow of former Labor MP Jimmy Wray, said Ms Harvey made damaging statements during the interview with Piers Morgan.

On the show, Ms Harvey denied being fired from her law firm by Ms Wray in 1997 and claimed she was the one who took out a court order against Ms Wray.

Last night Ms Wray said: ‘I felt like I was being vilified by Ms Harvey on Piers Morgan’s show. Many of the things she said were completely wrong and I would really like to set the record straight. I am now considering the possibility of filing a defamation claim against Ms. Harvey.”

Last month, The Mail on Sunday told how Ms Wray was shocked to see her stalker depicted as the character ‘Martha’ in hit Netflix show Baby Reindeer.

The series, which has attracted more than 22 million viewers, is based on the experience of Scottish comedian Richard Gadd. It references Martha’s previous history of stalking. Gadd’s character is seen looking her up online and finding articles – fictionalized – headlined: “Sick Stalker Targets Lawyer’s Deaf Child.”

This lawyer would be Mrs Wray, a lawyer in Scotland who has a disabled son, Frankie. Originally a barrister, Ms Wray first met Ms Harvey – herself a law graduate – in 1997 when she was persuaded to employ her on a trial basis at her law firm in Glasgow.

Ms Wray was forced to fire Ms Harvey, who then proceeded to stalk and harass her, leading to the solicitor laying charges against her in April 2002.

The documents seeking a sheriff’s order have been seen by this newspaper and detail the reasons why Ms Wray asked the court to intervene. This includes Mrs Harvey who reported Mrs Wray to social services for allegedly harming her disabled son.

But Mrs Harvey told Piers Morgan: ‘She [Mrs Wray] It became a mess because I went to the High Court in Edinburgh to get nationwide bans, and an injunction because I was moving to London anyway.’ She then labeled it as ‘nonsense’ that an interim ban had been issued.

Last night Mrs Wray said: ‘What she said is wrong and has been heard by millions of people. It is inaccurate and untrue.”
