A girl has died in hospital after the child was found unconscious in a suburban home.
The three-week-old baby was found in a house on the Vecht Jones Street in Mighell, near Innisfail, 90km south of Cairns, about 9.30am on Saturday.
A Queensland Police spokeswoman said the baby was rushed to hospital before she was later pronounced dead.
“An investigation has been launched and detectives will attempt to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident,” she said.
