The Manchester United forward, who has spent the 2023/24 season on loan at Getafe in Spain, was arrested in January 2022 following allegations of attempted rape and assault.

The charges were later dropped but the now 22-year-old has not played for the Red Devils since and faces an uncertain future ahead of the opening of the summer transfer window.

Last year it was determined that it would be best for Greenwood to play away from United, leading to his move to LaLiga, but who will be his team next season remains to be seen.

One indication may have been given, however, as the striker has, according to The Sun, put his fully furnished home up for rent for £14,000 a month.

The house is said to have six bedrooms and six bathrooms and is being privately distributed to leading rental agents.

Located in Bowdon, Cheshire, it is said to have a games room, gym and home office, and is said to be ‘the perfect family home’.

Greenwood, whose contract with United expires next summer, has been linked with a number of clubs ahead of the upcoming transfer window.

He is believed to earn just under £80,000-a-week at the club, having put pen to paper on a four-and-a-half-year contract in February 2021.

Greenwood’s move to Spain was widely criticized but he has been well supported by Getafe and their fans since his arrival, as he has excelled on the pitch, scoring 10 goals in 34 appearances for LaLiga.

According to The AthleticsNapoli contacted United this summer about a possible move for the attacker.

Greenwood, meanwhile, would like to test himself at a higher level next season, potentially involving clubs competing in European competitions.

The report further states that the Red Devils would prefer to sell Greenwood, but a second loan cannot be ruled out if they are unable to receive compensation they deem appropriate.

It is widely expected that Greenwood will never play for United again, but new co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe recently hinted that the door was not completely closed.

Speaking in February in his first public appearance since the purchase of his minority stake in the club was confirmed, the British billionaire said: ‘He is a Manchester United footballer, so we are in charge of the football.

‘So the answer is yes, we have to make decisions. Clearly we have to make a decision. No decision has been made.”

It is reported that the house offered for rent was Greenwood’s home when he was reaching the height of his career with the Red Devils.

It is also said to be where he was ordered out of bed by detectives when he was arrested, and where he stayed while he waited to find out if he would be charged, after denying the allegations.

Earlier this month, the LaLiga match between Alaves and Getafe was briefly suspended after home fans at the Mendizorrotza Stadium targeted Greenwood with insulting chants calling for the player to ‘die’, just weeks after he was attacked by Real Sociedad supporters had been called a ‘rapist’.
