Jeffrey Wright has been added to the cast of the second season of the popular survival drama series The Last Of Us, it was announced on Friday.
The 58-year-old artist plays Isaac, a militia leader locked in a drawn-out battle with a resilient enemy faction.
The actor also portrayed the character in the 2020 video game The Last Of Us II, it was reported Variety.
Wright will star alongside leads Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey, who play Joel Miller and Ellie respectively.
The cast of the program is further completed by artists such as Rutina Wesley and Gabriel Luna.

The new season of the HBO series features guest appearances from Isabela Merced, Kaitlyn Dever and Catherine O’Hara.
The Last Of Us is based on the video game of the same name, which was originally released in 2013.
Set in a post-apocalyptic United States, the show revolves around a smuggler who escorts a teenager immune to a devastating virus across the country.
The program was co-created by Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann, with the latter of the two helping develop the video game franchise.
The first season of The Last Of Us debuted on HBO in January last year and consisted of a total of nine episodes.
The series received widespread critical acclaim and currently has a 96% rating Rotten tomatoes.
The program’s cast and crew were jointly nominated for five Primetime Emmy Awards, as well as several Primetime Creative Arts Emmy Awards, for their work on the project.
In January last year it was announced that The Last Of Us had been renewed for a second season.

Mazin spoke about the upcoming second season of the program during an interview with The Hollywood Reporter and stated that the new batch of episodes would have marked differences from The Last Of Us II.
“It won’t be exactly the same as the game. It will be the show that Neil and I want to make,” he said.
The producer added that the new batch of episodes will be “different, just like this season was different” from the original game.
A premiere date for the second season of The Last Of Us has not yet been set.
