Jeff Ross Insists There Was “No Way” Tom Brady Was Actually Mad About His Controversial Robert Kraft Joke

All is good between Tom Brady and comedian Jeff Ross, who seemingly rubbed the former NFL player the wrong way when he made a “massage” joke about New England Patriots CEO Robert Kraft at Netflix‘s Roast of Tom Brady.

During the live event — which aired on Sunday (May 5) — Ross poked fun at Kraft, who was previously accused of paying for sex at a Florida massage parlor in 2019.

“Tom became a Patriot and moved up to New England, and on the first day of training camp that scrawny rookie famously walked into the owner Robert Kraft’s office and said, ‘I’m the best decision your organization has ever made. Would you like a massage?’” Ross said before blowing a kiss in Kraft’s direction and adding, “I love Robert Kraft.”

However, things took a heated turn when Brady left his seat, approached Ross and warned him not to “say that shit again.”

Despite the awkward moment, Ross told the Rich Eisen Show on Monday (May 6) that there was “no way” Brady was actually mad about the joke.

“He’s having fun!” Ross insisted, per TMZ. “It’s like — that’s his dad. Robert Kraft is like a father figure to him. He was just showing his love for Robert Kraft. Robert Kraft loved it. We had a great talk afterwards. He was so happy that I gave him a shoutout — a salute. It was beautiful.”

Decider has reached out to reps for Brady, but did not hear back by the time of publication.

Meanwhile, Nikki Glaser — who also took some jabs at Brady during the roast — claimed that Ross was “a little bit worried” after he made the joke at Kraft’s expense.

“We have consciences about these things,” she said on The Howard Stern Show, per Us Weekly. “You know, afterward, we go, ‘Did that really hurt his feelings?’ And I go, ‘You know, [Tom] had to do it performatively for Robert, I’m sure.’ But I’m sure it was not an issue that Jeff was going to hear about today or anything like that.”

The Roast of Tom Brady is currently streaming on Netflix.
