A tourist bus driver callously struck a foreign cyclist on Pattaya Second Road, near Pattaya 8 School. Caught on camera, the driver heartlessly fled the scene, leaving the injured victim behind.
The disturbing footage reveals the unidentified cyclist being knocked off his bike as the blue and white tourist bus veered into his path without warning. Ignoring the injured party, the driver callously carried on without offering any assistance.
Witnesses, among them local boxer Sitthichok Kaewsanga, sprang into action to aid the cyclist, who suffered a severe laceration to his right elbow. Rushed to a nearby hospital, the victim received urgent medical attention.
Recalling the harrowing scene, Sitthichok expressed disbelief at the driver’s lack of compassion, noting the victim’s advanced age. Pattaya police have been alerted to the incident and are scrutinising the footage, with efforts underway to locate both the driver and the bus’s registration details, reported Pattaya News.
In related news, a court ruling determined that a 23 year old police officer must pay 27.3 million baht in compensation to the parents of a doctor he fatally hit while riding a motorcycle in 2022.
The incident occurred when the officer, Norawich Buadok, who was travelling between 108 and 128 kilometres per hour on his Ducati Monster big bike, struck 33 year old Dr Waraluck Supawatjariyakul at a pedestrian crossing in Ratchathewi district.
