His support was a relief, compared to a previous partner, who she said would leave her feeling too loud, broke and thin.

“One time I cut him off and I didn’t care what he was anymore [thought] about me, i started making videos on instagram. That’s how I became famous,” the WAP hitmaker recalled.

While discussing the challenges in her marriage, the artist admitted that they both had their own shortcomings.

“We have our own bad things,” she said. ‘We come from two different worlds. Sometimes I can’t…not that I can’t be a wife. It’s like my career is costing my life. You know what I mean? My career comes first, then my children come second. And then sometimes I don’t realize that I find so many things more important than my relationship.’

Yet the performer says she ‘doesn’t want to grow’.

“I remember we were going through a tough time last year. And it’s like, ‘Release your album. You’re exaggerating. When was the last time we went on vacation?’ And it’s like, ‘I don’t have time to go on vacation because this comes first.’ This comes first and then my children come second. Then come the little things that I have to take care of. Sometimes I feel like I probably put my relationship last,” Cardi said.

When asked if she had made a decision about her relationship, the Grammy winner explained that she and Offset are “best friends.”

‘We think about it, because we do love each other. It’s not even about love. We are best friends. And it’s like, “Okay. There was a time when I didn’t have a best friend, or I didn’t have a support system.” It’s not even about ‘How do you leave a partner?’ How do you stop talking to your best friend,” she explained.

‘When I no longer had social media and no one knew what I was doing, I had a lot of peace. But what am I going to do? Never post again or never work again because that is peace?’ she asked. ‘No. I never want my daughter or son to ever give up on anything because they can’t handle the pressure of what people say about them. I have to set that example.”

She added that she still feels the need to “prove something” to her kids and haters.
