Vasiliy Lomachenko rolled back the years with a boxing masterclass against George Kambosos Jr. on Sunday and fans have enjoyed the revival of the legend.

The Ukrainian veteran, 36, put the brakes on hometown star Kambosos Jr. in emphatic fashion before securing an 11th-round knockout victory with two punishing body blows.

Lomachenko’s victory raises the prospect of a mega-fight against undefeated star Gevonta Davis, and fans were left purring at the 36-year-old’s display.

“Loma super sharp,” one fan wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter. “George didn’t win a single round.”

“Well deserved,” said another. “Loma is a technical genius in boxing.”

A third fan paid tribute to the Australian: ‘Good performance from Loma! Also the good sportsmanship of Kambosos after a defeat.’

“One of the easiest wins of Loma’s career,” a fourth fan added. ‘Dominated from start to finish.’

Hall of Fame boxing trainer Teddy Atlas said Kambosos was chasing shadows.

“Kambasos is shadow boxing,” he said. Only this time the shadow strikes back. Loma is a ghost in there. But not a friendly one.”

The devastating nature of the Australian’s defeat raises questions about where 30-year-old Kambosos should go next.

“This guy is one of the best of all time,” Kambosos said after the fight.

‘We did our best, but he is a good champion. He deserves that belt. I gave everything.

‘I’m still alive, I’m still standing. I’m not dead.’
