Notable among these achievements is a substantial $100 million investment in critical institutional organizations, including the Institute for Community Resiliency and Climate Adaptation. Additionally, his vision led to the establishment of the Center for Excellence for Offshore Energy, positioning SUNY Maritime College at the forefront of maritime education and innovation.

Representative Ocasio-Cortez emphasized her support for Admiral Alfultis’ initiatives, citing an $800,000 appropriation she championed to bolster the Center for Excellence for Offshore Energy’s curriculum development.
