Amy Schumer says she is the breadwinner in her marriage to chef Chris Fischer but still has plenty of time to be a mom to son Gene, 4

Amy Schumer knows she can bring home the bacon, but never lets her husband Chris Fischer or her son Gene, four, forget who the mother is.

‘And I say that I am the breadwinner. I’m at work,” she said on the phone Kelly Corrigan Wonders podcast, co-hosted by Christy Turlington, discussing the changing role of fathers today.

“You know, he has so many jobs that a mom has, but mom is still a mom,” the Trainwreck star, 42, said, referring to her husband.

“And I’m sorry, because I really don’t mean for this to be limiting to the many great fathers and especially same-sex couples who are raising children,” continued Schumer – who pulled off a tacky stunt at the Jimmy Buffett tribute – and covered her tracks.

“I think women are great communicators. And when we look at the state of the world and whatever, it’s like the dads don’t throw a birthday party,” she joked. ‘But we let them navigate worldwide [issues]…just as women are good communicators. Can we get some women there?’

Schumer’s appearance on the podcast is part of the About Your Mother series, which includes Cindy Crawford, Jennifer Garner and Bono.

The stars tell outlets about their relationships with their mothers and the life lessons passed on to them.

The series aims to raise $100,000 for Every Mother Counts, the charity co-founded by Turlington.

Schumer also delved into her troubled relationship with her own mother after her friend Jennifer Lawrence praised her for the way she deals with haters.

The podcast hosts asked her what three words she would have used to describe her mother when she was a teenager, and Amy quickly said “loving, narcissistic and inconsistent.”

And today, the Life & Beth star — who stars in the upcoming comedy Kinda Pregnant — said she’d probably use the same three words.

“I just have great empathy for all of them, and I see all the same things in myself,” she said.

“Just know that the expectations and pressure we have for our mothers are unrealistic, and it’s like a dream.” And there’s just no way to do it right,” Schumer added.

On the podcast, the I Feel Pretty star talked about diaries she wrote as a child and read when she was 30.

Speaking about her husband Chris Fischer, the Trainwreck actress, 42, said: 'You know, he has so many jobs that a mother has, but mother is still mother'

‘I was like, ‘Oh my God. I was totally brainwashed into worship [my mom]”, she exclaimed.

“I was so lucky – I grew up feeling deeply loved, appreciated and seen – and when I was 30, I questioned all that, looking back,” she said.

“I don’t have any anger towards her,” the comedian continued. “I can still feel hurt by her and she can annoy me, but it’s like she had a mother, and she had a mother, and it just goes back.”

‘But in the end she’s always there. She is my person. She’s my biggest fan.’
